About your Photographer

Hey y’all, I’m Rachel!

Here’s a little info about me, if you don’t know me already!

Hey there! My name is Rachel (Lemoine) Pottle. I was born & raised in Patterson, Louisiana (near Morgan City) and currently reside in Baton Rouge with my husband and our three very spoiled pups! I landed here for LSU in 2013 and after graduating and falling in love with the city, we never left! I do travel all over for photography, and other reasons, so don’t worry if you’re a bit further away from me.

Family Photos on another level

I come from a very large family…and I don’t say that lightly. My parents had 11 children (no joke!) Growing up, while my mother stayed home to care of us kids and my dad worked full time, and on the weekend they were both professional photographers, amongst other things (to the right is a photo of my dad shooting a wedding years ago.) A few of my sisters also loved the idea of photography so growing up, I was around it 24/7, standing in front of backdrops and new lighting equipment so my parents could practice. I hated doing it as a child, but now as a photographer I completely understand and wish my dogs could do the same!

Following in footsteps

From a very young age I was always known to borrow a camera and take family or senior portraits for friends. I’ve always loved the idea of having pictures of anyone and everything so you have them to share, decorate your home, or simply remember someone or something. My father passed away when I was 15, so I have first-hand experience with how important keeping memories alive with the help of photos are. A few years ago I decided to finally invest in my own professional equipment so I could officially start my own business, and I did just that and it has been growing every since.

What’s your style?

When it comes to my photography style I prefer photojournalism myself which in definition means telling a story through photographs, but I never limit myself or my clients as to what they want. The same goes for editing. I have two favorite types of editing styles being light and airy and rustic, with much darker tones, but I always work with my clients to make sure I capture and produce their dream photographs they will love for years to come.
